Monthly Topic Series: April

It’s April and our monthly topic is…Earth Day! Check out some of our speech, language, and feeding activity recommendations below!

Speech - Trashy Sounds

Help make your community a cleaner place while also working on speech sounds! Decide on a target sound and then go for a walk around your neighborhood, a local park, or some other outdoor location. Pick-up trash while on your walk and see who can find the most trash items that contain the target sound.

Language - Ready, Set, Sort and Recycle

Practice understanding categories with recycling! Have your child decide whether an item should go in the trash bin or in the recycling bin or set up containers for different recycling categories - paper, plastic, glass, metal, cardboard, etc. - and have your child help you decide which container to put an item into. Need help introducing this concept? Try this short video, this longer video, or this song.
